Crochet Heart Pillow Free Pattern

I was originally going to design the pillows to look like candy conversation hearts.

I also added a scallop border. The plaid pillow with heart is a free crochet pattern and made using single crochet stitches and the plaid crochet pattern technique. I think the pillows look like boxes of valentine chocolates. Pattern is written in us crochet terminology.

When you are happy with how the pillow is filled out finish single crocheting the two pieces together. Using hook size f 5 3 75 mm heart pillow measures approximately 7 5 inches wide by 8 inches tall including the ruffle. These crochet heart pillows are fun to make and are so soft and squishy when they are finished. Now i know we are months away from that time of the year but it does help to start making gifts earlier in the year.

Crochet all the way down and around the heart and up the opposite side. Place the two panels together matching up all sides. Chain 1 and single crochet the two heart pieces together through the single crochet stitches on the borders. Once i got started though i changed my mind and decided to use white yarn for the font as opposed to red.

This pattern includes instructions for two sizes of heart pillows. At the end of each row the number of stitches for completion is noted in parenthesis. You ll need worsted weight yarn and a 4 5mm crochet hook. You should now have two completed heart panels like so.

Starting on the left side at the top begin attaching the panels together by chaining one and single crocheting around the outside of the panels in blossom using two strands. The smaller pillow measures 8 wide x 7 5 tall. Leave enough space to fit your hand into the pillow and fill it with poly fil. Blo back loop only.
